Noddy's Toyland
Noddy's Toyland
I don't know if anyone in the Cornwall area might be interested in this:-
Looks lovely, but I don't think it's worth me putting in a bid - I suspect the train fare to St. Austell will would be about 3 times the price of the print!

The original of this is one of the items that I have lent to Seven Stories, so you can see it in their exhibition!

Re: Noddy's Toyland
I'm not into Noddy, but if anyone wants to put in a bid and gets it, I can always collect for you, providing of course the buyer will be at the Beckinham day.
Is it worth the money, Tony. Not an original then.

Worth you putting a bid in, Julie - if you can get it around that price, I am sure someone will buy it from you. I have seen and admired the original, it is a lovely picture.

It wouldn't be an original, Julie, as Seven Stories have got it insured for £30,000!Julie2owlsdene wrote:Is it worth the money, Tony. Not an original then.
I have seen people selling that limited edition facsimile for £100.

I don't even remember signing that, but it was 13 years ago and I was younger then!
Re: Noddy's Toyland
Does anyone know how much they sold for when first issued. Also, was there any information about them in one of the journals at the time they were issued? I can't remember reading anything, but with my memory, that's not unusual.

They weren't cheap, I know, but I am not sure if it was £50 or £100. I can't even remember if the Society got anything for it!!

Re: Noddy's Toyland
I'll keep an eye on it. But Noddy is not one of my favourite characters, sadly.

Re: Noddy's Toyland
Surprise, surprise - I have just found out that I have got one of these. Still sitting in its original box in a shed in the garden, where it must have been for about 12 years!! I think the colours are a bit paler than the original, but it shouldn't have faded as it was still in its original bubble wrap and cardboard box. Sadly the glass is cracked - perhaps they sent me a reject!!
