Fiona! These prices seem crazy. I agree with your assessments. All these prices
are higher than the second hand bookshops I have seen over the last week or two
in Lewes and Alton. I bought 'Five have a Wonderful Time' for £8 with dustwrapper,
first edition 1952! Loads of Enid Blyton books in a shop in Alton today.

I forgot to add - I have all of those titles and I usually pay £5 or less per book!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Well done, Fiona! I wonder who pays these high prices - if anyone does?

Re: Oxfam Enid Blyton Books for sale
I suspect that in my early days I may have bought one or two books from E-Bay that with hindsight were over priced, but fortunately nothing too expensive. I suspose it's a case of a book being worth what someone is prepared to pay.
I've bought 3 or 4 times from Oxfam, but this time did my research, and was perfectly happy with the prices I paid.
I think Fiona's assessment of prices is pretty accurate, although possibly someone would consider £100 for a signed copy of Story of My Life worth it. Although I'd have thought it really ought to have a D/W for that price.
Similarly I think £150 for Five on a Treasure Island is a bit steep, although I have seen a very battered copy of the Secret Island for £100 in a second hand book shop. It was still unsold a year later though.
The silly think about some of Oxfams prices is that they are often higher than you can buy from specialist secondhand book shops, and they are out to make a profit, whereas Oxfam's books are all donations, so anything they sell them for is a profit!

Re: Oxfam Enid Blyton Books for sale
I remember a woman in a nearbye Oxfam shop saying she priced her books by looking
at the internet. I don't expect that these were the prices that they sold for however!
I remember a book buyer telling me that Oxfam were notorious amongst all other charities
for pricing their collectable books excessively high. Some of the shops where the manager has some knowledge are priced more reasonably.

I think they must look at the wrong sites in the internet then. Stella's books are particularly bad - £360 for The Holiday Book, admittedly it had a very good condition dust jacket, but still
