Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz

Well, I did try Googling 'Fany, name, Welsh' but nothing came up at all, it just kept trying to show me results with Fanny in them. So I assume it's not a true Welsh name. Fainy makes sense to me, like Zany isn't pronounced Zanny. Anyway, new question with a clear-cut right answer! How can you tell ...

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz

It was fany.

Question (not a quiz one though) is how is that pronounced? I always assumed the same as Fanny, but now wonder, is it more like Fainy?

Re: Error Messages

I've just had my first fatal error! Hit back and saw my post had been made though. As Courtenay said, fatal seems a bit of an exaggeration!

Re: The Forums - Images and Topics

I don't have a problem with off-topic posts, some of them are very interesting. But as this is an Enid Blyton forum surely Enid Blyton content should be the priority when it comes to issues of space?

Re: The Forums - Images and Topics

Have to admit I'm very confused here. Even if it was thought that photos took up space Pete's ones couldn't have taken up any more space than all the photos of cats, flowers, dad's army museums etc etc so why remove them rather than the non-Blyton stuff?

We just read that bit of Finniston Farm last night. It annoys me as a perpetual ponytail wearer

Re: 2-in-1s from Mulberry Editions/Parragon

Aminmec's comment reminds me of one thing that annoys me - you only get a cover for one story! I always wanted to know what the cover for the second story would look like. I think some Nancy Drew 2 in 1s (or it may have been Lois Lowry books) solved that by having a cover on the back, but the book w...

I remain as stumped as ever.

Fire could be Eire... Stale could be shale, Lear could leat or leas... but I've got nothing else.

Re: 2-in-1s from Mulberry Editions/Parragon

I had the Boy Next Door/The Treasure Hunters 2 in 1. Weirdly I read The Boy Next Door, but never the Treasure Hunters! I bought a copy of the Treasure Hunters many years later and enjoyed it so was surprised to even later discover I'd had it all along.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?

I was annoyed with myself yesterday as I realised I had left my drink sitting in the stands at the ice arena. We sometimes go for a McDonald's before we take Brodie and his cousin to the skating lessons and I usually bring my cup with me as I haven't finished it yet, but then I always put it in the ...

Oh no, I loved Ashley McGuire! I know that her version of matron was a complete fabrication but to me she was one of the best parts of the BBC show.
