Re: What Enid Blyton book have you recently bought?
I read them one after the other straight off, I'm like a child in a sweet shop when I find a new EB book! Absolutely notice the similarities between those and later works but just as enjoyable. I've spent the last 2 hours reading The Raynham Marsh mystery - Secret Passage or island (?) section of th...

That's the one! Thank you for that information I did try and find it in the Cave of Books earlier but I'm still learning to navigate the site. What a shame the cover artist is the biggest mystery of all!

Famous Five books 70s TV series covers
Being a child of the 70s the Famous Five books I collected were the Knight ones with the photo covers from the TV series, although I have all the books five of them are from other publishers. I'd like to replace them so I have all the same ones on my shelf. They are available on eBay but I thought I...

Noddy jigsaw by Arrow
Noddy jigsaw by Arrow Games Ltd, 12 piece wooden in box. Fairly good condition for the age, looks like one corner has been reinforced with sellotape at some point but it's still quite a sturdy box. £5.00 including P&P to UK. Hope photo works! [img http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah93/Charlot...

Re: What Enid Blyton book have you recently bought?
A lovely copy of The Secret of Cliff Castle / Smuggler Ben arrived this morning for me. I've never read it not even in my youth so looking forward to curling up with that in bed later! It's a hardback Collins 1959 edition with dustjacket - originally priced at 3/6! Why do the illustrators not get cr...

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I took my 3 sons on a Mediterranean cruise last October and it just so happened that the day we docked for an excursion to Rome was a Wednesday. I'd forgotten that the Pope does his audience in the morning so it was a real bonus that we got dropped off by St Peter's Square first and we managed to ca...

Re: Which Blyton/non-Blyton book have you read the most?
I recently read the Faraway Tree books again, many of my Blytons are boxed up but I plan to rescue them out of storage very soon and list what I have. As an adult I picture the Faraway Tree slightly differently to when I was a child, also the illustrations of Moonface vary somewhat, to me his head r...

Re: Enid Blyton Meets Doctor Who
I only discovered last night that 'Dick' Gary Russell and the Dr Who author are one and the same! My Dr Who and also Famous Five mad 11 yr old (well trained ) has quite a few of his books so was thrilled when I told him of the connection. Amazing episode idea, would also be great as a novel!
