Re: 90s Five go to Smuggler's Top

How come you can get all of the 70's series on DVD but the 90's ones are only available in Dutch and the two parter Smuggler's Top is missing from it? It's not even on YouTube, unlike all the other episodes. Why is this one left out/ not available compared to the others? As an aside, does anybody k...

Shipwreck

Quite by chance I have come across this newspaper article concerning the remains of a French brigatine, the Jeune Hortense , uncovered by winter storms near Penzance earlier this month. Apologies if this has already been mentioned on this forum. However, it may be of interest as it brings to mind th...

Thank you Nigel :D I last used my green flag over 25 years ago on a Brighton to Paignton service (Class 50 and 7 mk2's), it still seems like yesterday.

Re: Five Go Mad in Dorset/on Mescalin

The early Comic Strip films certainly had a very good quality to them and were beautifully filmed. I believe that 35mm film was used, very expensive indeed. I too agree that the spoofing of the Famous Five worked only once with Five Go Mad in Dorset . To return to this with Five Go Mad on Mescalin d...

Re: Air-Raid Shelters

My Grandparents had an Anderson shelter that survived until the early 1980's. Following the end of hostilities it served a very useful purpose as a henhouse! :D

Re: Cycling In The Books

I had a Raleigh Tomahawk. I remember giving at least two people a 'seater' on it. One at the back and one between the handlebars! That Raleigh Tomahawk looks identical in every way to the model that I rode back in the mid 1970's. The bike that I really wanted though was the somewhat larger ...

This Burhou webcam is great, I already seen the famous giant rabbit earlier today and various Seagulls taking a stroll but so far no Puffins. :D

Re: Harper Lee to publish "To Kill A Mockingbird Sequel"

A wonderful poem Anita. :D I must also re-watch the 1962 Gregory Peck film adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. As films go it is a pretty good interpretation of the book.
