Re: Mystery of the Secret Room...why is it rather unpopular?

Yikes, I don't how I managed to do that- I normally check in the relevant book to make sure I'm not spouting nonsense, as I can't remember every detail from every Blyton book I have ever read, but I seem to have forgotten to do that this time.

Re: May 2012 Non-Posters

I don't understand why you have made this list, picking out the people that have joined but have not posted immediately. I am included in it and the reason that I didn't post in the first month that I joined was because I wanted to get a 'feel' for the forum and the people on it. (All of which I hav...

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?

I'm reading Captain W.E Johns's Biggles books in chronological order. (Well the ones I've got anyway.) I'm currently on Biggles and the Black Raider.

Re: What Enid Blyton book are you reading right NOW!

I'm currently reading a Biggles book, but I'll be moving onto the Secret Seven in chronological order before too long.

Re: What Enid Blyton book have you recently bought?

I like the Dean and Sons too. If there's a Blyton book that I already I have I tend not to buy it, but I make an exception for the books by this publisher in hardback.

Re: Famous Five Food

I agree Michael, the foods tend to be delicous, but the way Enid describes them makes them twice as good. The Five wouldn't just eat a gingerbread, they'd devour a dark sticky slab of of the stuff. On the other hand, if I'd added the description for every food I'd still be typing in a months time!

Re: Malory Towers v St Clare's

St Clare's in my opinion, simply because I prefer the supporting characters. Bill is the only one I would choose if I picked my favourites from both series, whereas I'd go for nearly all of the St Clare's girls. I also prefer the dual storyline of both Pat and Isabel (although I understand this may ...

Re: Your favourite Famous Five book

Get Into Trouble for me. I think one of the darkest books and features the best 'baddies' (Rookie, Perton, Hunchie) as well as some good supporting friends of the Five (Agnes, Richard). It has a good plot and climax and features some of Julian's best lines out of all of the FF books. A close second ...

Re: Julian - What do you think of him?

I absolutely agree. I detested him when I first read the FF and still do- for the reasons you put down, but mostly for the air of superiority that I feel he displayed towards the others. He didn't even give them a chance to say what they would do; instead what HE said was what they did. George, I fe...
