Re: Photo of the real Timmy

Chrissy, my first thought on seeing `your Timmy` is, thats a Berger Picard, a rare herding breed from France, without seeing it in the flesh I obviously don`t really know, but if this was a guess the breed quiz ,as in the dog is a breed and not a mix then my money would be on the Berger Picard. Inte...

Re: Famous Five Club

I've just done some research - Petra was actually a mongrel but very Alsatian/German Shepherd looking. The bust of her is now in the Blue Peter garden. She was the first of many animals on the show. Thank you, Daisy. That's very kind of you. Do you happen to have a website link? Hi Chrissie, sorry ...

Re: General Natter Room

Really good pics, I can`t take decent photos with the subject right there posing for me, so you did extremely well to get good pics when being jostled. I would have loved to witness a carriage procession all those beautiful horses, but London to far to do comfortably in one day and nowdays I can`t s...

Re: General Natter Room

Look forward to seeing your photos Lucky Star, I bet the flyby was lovely. The weather was spiteful as my mother would say, but didn`t seem to stop the crowds being in good spirits. I liked the effects at the concert if not the music, but should imagine the Queen has had to sit through worse things ...

Awwwwww I want to go to Kitten Island, sounds lovely :) Like everything with the internet I am well behind the times, so apart from books don`t really use Ebay, but I recall my friend was having a browse and commenting some one was selling a bar of dove soap :!: My husband has just bought some used ...

Re: General Natter Room

Thank you for posting pics, my niece was also there getting very wet, but enjoying the atmosphere. Such a shame it had to be an awful day, It was a wash out here, a few events had to be cancelled!. Must say I was impressed that the Queen seemed to stay standing for all the time she was on that barge...

Re: Books that find their way back

No sadly I have never had a book get back to me, well I suppose I could of as I have never wrote in one so suppose I wouldn`t actually know if it was my book from back in the day! Apart from some large hardback books about dogs, cats and horses I have none of my orginal childhood books :( To be fair...

Re: Hay Festival

I too have been to Hay many times, It`s only about two hour drive from me. I always just go on a normal day just for a browse, even in the dead of winter it is still busy, never been to an actual festival day, can only imagine how busy it must be then!

Re: I am feeling very sad

That sounds wonderful, did it look like a real dog? I have just googled Michel Taillis but the website pics don`t really give a good image of the dogs. It would be great if all the people who thought about getting a dog because it looks cute and fluffy, without considering its needs, got themselves ...

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?

I like Phillippa Gregory to. I have a very big interest in the Plantagenet to Tudor period, my bookshelves are heaving with books about them. Somebody bought me The other Boleyn Girl thinking I would like it due to my interest in Anne Boleyn, when I started reading it I didn`t like it due to it bein...

Oh Garlic bread with cheese on top is just lovely. Roasted garlic spread on a hot bagette then layered with a slice of mature chedder is also very yumy.

Re: I am feeling very sad

Hi Yak Yes it is always a consideration when you have an exsiting pet at home, how it will cope/take to, another pet. Cats I think are more problematic when making new introductions than dogs. I have fostered dogs they come and go fitting in getting on with it fine, hardly ever a cross word, cats on...

Nice article, made me smile. A bit in the second comment (I think?) about new editions and changing words got me sitting up, surely no edition of the FF has the five going off to shop in a mall :x.

Re: The Ultimate Cup of Tea

I am a Tetley girl myself, although do like Earl Grey strictly without milk, I cringe if I order one and am asked if I want milk, urgh the very thought!

I`m told Tea-pigs are very nice haven`t tried them myself. For herby type tea I like Peppermint.
