Re: Which Film(s) Have You Seen Recently?

We watched the first 2 episodes from "All the Light we cannot see" yesterday afternoon on Netflix and will watch the two remaining episodes this afternoon. I've tried to read Anthony Doerr's novel, but couldn't get into it. Will give it another try (we'll visit St. Malo in early May).

Re: Which Film(s) Have You Seen Recently?

After having finished reading Nora Roberts' crime novel "Angels fall" I watched the TV movie based on the book. It's even better than the book!

Re: The Mystery Of The Hidden House

I just discovered this thread.
"Hidden House" is together with "Tally-Ho Cottage" and "Secret Room" one of my favorites in the series.

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?

Linwood Barclay has been for many years one of my favorite crime novel authors. Yesterday I looked so much forward to read his latest novel "Look Both Ways" and was sooooo disappointed when it turned out to be a SciFi novel. Hopefully his next book will be a thriller again, because that's ...

The cold and lots of snow in Bavaria didn't bother me when I was a child.

Well, I hope you have a great time, Chrissie.. I suggest that you also check online to ensure you get the latest information.(though you do travel rather more than me so I don't think I can tell you anything you don't know already). But meaning all the best. Jack Yes, we will check online as well. ...

Re: What Are You Doing Now?

I'm busy for the past week preparing our France trip in April/May. Our public library used to have a lot of France travel guides in 2017 (before we went to the Loire) which almost all have disappeared. So I am dependent on my own old travel guides and three maps for the Côte d'azur, Bretagne and Nor...

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?

After having finished "Winter Solstice" and "Rebecca", I started reading "The Daphne DuMaurier Companion" by Helen Taylor. I enjoy the interviews with DDM's three kids.

Re: Which Film(s) Have You Seen Recently?

One film I did re-watch again yesterday (and a very fitting one to have watched a few times!) was Groundhog Day. I'm a big fan of that type of film, and that era, and it's a really enjoyable film with Bill Murray and Andie McDowell working very well together. Bertie, it's a cute movie and we watche...

Re: Milly-Molly-Mandy

When Enid Blyton wrote about Noddy "spending a penny", George Greenfield advised her to alter her wording!  I borrowed the Milly-Molly-Mandy books from the library as a child and loved the map of the village at the front, and Milly-Molly-Mandy's candy-striped dress. The storie...

Re: Milly-Molly-Mandy

There were two MMM books translated into German and published by Franz Schneider Verlag. With the beginning of the Internet age I realized that those stories published in Germany were only a fraction of MMM stories out there, so I got all the others via amazon.co.uk. I must say one thing though in f...
