Re: Paddington Bear
This looks like just about every children's film I've seen in the last 10 years. If I see another scene with water cascading out of the bathroom I shall scream! What puzzles me is why use the name Paddington Bear as it clearly bears (no pun intended) no resemblance to it? They could've called the fi...

Re: Mountain of Adventure
I didn't like Mountain of Adventure. The portrayal of Welsh people made them seem a bit simple and the plot was too far fetched.
I had to force myself to finish it. Easily my least favourite Blyton book.

Re: The Children of Cherry Tree Farm
That's very interesting. So maybe it's not so far fetched after all. Another thing I found odd is near the beginning one of the children makes a comment along the lines of "why would anyone want to live in a town?". Now surely if you were brought up in a town, you'd be used to it, and woul...

Re: What Enid Blyton book are you reading right NOW!
I quite like the cover. I suspect I may be in the minority though. As for the book, I'm about halfway through Cherry Tree Farm. It's a very charming read although there's not much of a story. You do need to suspend your disbelief quite a lot. Particularly at the beginning where they get to miss 6 mo...

Re: Top 10 favourite children's books in Britain
Here's my list: 1. Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome - Could have been Winter Holiday or Coot Club but in the end I went for the original. 2. Five Run Away Together by Enid Blyton - My favourite of the series at the moment, but liable to change with my mood! 3. Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl - ...
