Famous Five 'other world'/fantasy quotes??

Hi all, I'm hoping to give a paper on the Famous Five in May and am trying to write an abstract to submit... I'm hoping that someone can remember a nice quote from one of the books to use as part of my title. The conference is about other worlds and the fantastic, so I'm trying to set the piece as b...

Five on a Treasure Island red hardback edition

I need a bit of help! I'm currently attempting to database all the changes between three different editions of each FF book. I've just got to the end of Five on a treasure island and the last page of the book with the last paragraph is missing from my red hardbacked edition  My 1997 edition r...

Re: Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

Thank you Fiona, that would be fantastic if you do have it somewhere. If you do manage to locate it, just pm me the total price of postage and how much you want for the book and I'll arrange payment with you :D

Re: Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

Thanks everyone :D I had considered getting them sent to someone in my family and asking them to post them from the uk, but I know full well my family would just refuse to take money for postage and the last thing I want is for anyone to be out of pocket! I will keep it in mind for a last resort tho...

Re: Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

Sorry again- I promise to try not to be so hot-headed in my future posts  I feel awful for reacting in such a horrible and bad-tempered way! Just to clarify, yes it is the red hardbacked ones I need, I should have been clearer in my initial post. I have always regarded those hardbacks as first...

Re: Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

I know- I'm sorry. I actually logged back on now to try and delete my last message! I was in a rather bad mood and unfortunately took his comments rather badly. On reflection I know that I over-reacted, and can only apologise, I was just suddenly quite angry that he should suppose that I was looking...

Re: Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

Thank you for your point of view, however I think your are overestimating the cost of postage. I am fully expecting the books to cost about £5 each for scruffy editions, I need them solely for the text so in this case I am not interested in the condition or dustjacket. The cost of the books themselv...

Someone help please? 7 FF books needed

Hi all, I'm from the uk but recently moved to Hong Kong to do a PhD on the Famous Five books. I am looking at several different editions, but am missing 7 books I need. These must all be first editions (doesn't matter what impression, it's just about the actual text inside). I have tried on abebooks...

Re: Which should I keep?

Re: FF duplicates for sale (or swap)

hi anna, I'd like three of the Hodder and Staughton hardbacks if you still have them for sale: five fall into adventure, kirrin island again, and wonderful time. i live in the uk (eastbourne to be precise) if you still have them can you tell me the total price (including postage) and a paypal link o...
