Re: The Forums - Images and Topics
Bertie as far as I am concerned you can post anything you like in the General Natter section. That’s what it’s there for and if admin have no problem then nobody else should either. As Fiona said some of the topics over there are very interesting and I contribute to a number of them myself. The spec...

Re: The Forums - Images and Topics
Tony's reason for alerting Anita to the issue is likely to be for other reasons, not memory. I was wondering about that, too - especially as our old friend is keeping schtum about this! I have spoken with Keith about this in the past, as space was being gobbled up by members of my (very small) foru...

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?
I'm a fan of George Eliot too. I remember staying up half the night as a teenager to finish The Mill on the Floss . I was so lost in the world of the characters that I couldn't possibly sleep until I knew how the story ended. And then I couldn't sleep for musing on the ending! Eliot's characters go...

Smash Hits? I used to buy that every week as well.Anita Bensoussane wrote: ↑14 Apr 2024, 11:40 AIn the late 1970s - early 1980s my sister and I used to subscribe to a magazine containing lyrics of pop songs of the day.
Has anyone been to the Abba Voyage show in London yet?

Re: What other author are you reading at the moment?
I've just finished Ann Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho first published in 1794. The book is regarded as the first Gothic novel and was a huge bestseller in it's day. Today it is probably best known for being extensively mentioned (and parodied) by Jane Austen in Northanger Abbey . Anyway, as I ...

Re: Sickness/illness/injury in the Famous Five Books?
The shortness of the Five's break does lend a more rushed feeling to the book but beyond that I too love it's darker and more atmospheric setting. As a child I thought it added an extra, rather delicious, thrill to the plot and as an adult I think that since most of the FF series are set in sunnier,...

Re: Journal 83
I've now finished Journal 83 and what a worthy addition the the series it is. From it's lovely front cover to Tony's tongue in cheek editorial to it's colourful rear cover it was as big a treat to the senses as all of it's siblings. Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm has been a favourite of mine since I ...

Great band Katharine. I’ve never seen them but do love their music. Their new album is very good.
