Interesting question. I love using various accents depending on the circumstance and find I certainly fair well out of said practise. My Lady Bracknell goes down well in restaurants when I desire a good table and my costermonger gets me a few coppers off a leg of mutton regularly :D

In Ilkley, West Yorkshire. I suppose we are about 18 miles to the west of Leeds. I'm a Londoner but living up here 'on side of moor' is absolutely fascinating; all rather Wuthering Heights.

I enjoyed his role as Stan Butler. One of my favourite gags from that 24 episode series was regarding a couple of Swedish good lookers who had been taken-in by Stan and his slimey, randy blonde mate. Taken-in because Stan had told the Swedish women he and his mate were pilots ( airline pilots) as op...
So, overall, how does Tennant rate against Eccleston? I'll bet he's much better. Hopefully not so much of the "Fantastic!!" going on.
It was certainly a big plus point in my favour that I had never viewed either of the actors before they each took up the role of The Doctor...

I thought the episode featuring Peter Kay was highly disappointing and felt like nothing more to me than a weak filler. :( They were filming 3 episodes at once and that was soooooo evident in my honest opinion. The awful, non-funny 'chase' scene at the beginning of the episode was toe-curling. I rea...

I enjoyed a very happy childhood and one of the reasons I'm into E.B. is that through her books I can return to the days when I attended a school not dissimilar to Mallory Towers and relive French mistresses, midnight feasts, scavenger hunts , crabbing & messing about in boats. The magic is stil...

I can't take any credit for my attractive avatar because it was chosen for me by our moderator. I started out with a picture of a rock cake which I thought was apt, being typical Secret Seven picnic grub, but I think it must have been too big. :D QUESTION: In Good Old Secret Seven the chums find an ...

I have always thought it was a Secret Seven book, but I've read all the scenarios and nothing fits :( It was definitely a full length story.

Yes that thought had occured to me but all I ever read at that young age was EB,EB,EB. I can feel the thin book in my hand and see the black and white sketch of a boy or two boys about to climb thru' a window.

Thanks very much, I do appreciate your response. Whilst I'm not out to make a fast buck, I do think knowing such insider info adds to the pleasure when I'm rummaging around in charity shops and the like :D
