£170,000 to raise a child    I think that you can do it for less than that if you don't have expensive holidays, lots of expensive toys etc, but it is still expensive. My mum is hoping that my sister will wait a while to have children, if she has them at all, because her financi...

In my opinion people ,families with many children aren't selfish - rather people opting against to get/parent children. I understand this to mean that you are saying that people who choose not to have children are being selfish. If this is the case then I must disagree. There are many valid and sen...

The moon always shines right outside my bedroom window, so I had a fantastic (and comfortable) view.

I was wrapped up snugly in my duvet watching the eclipse and pitying my next door neighbours. They stood in their garden for the whole time. Brrrrr!

Two cats - Phoebe and Calypso, both named after Greek nymphs but not very nymphlike I'm afraid! They're tortoiseshell coloured, but I don't have any photos on my computer for you, so this page will have to do to show the colouring.

I watched the first one (Treasure Island??) and it wasn't too bad. Obviously they had chopped a lot of the story out for time reasons - at least I assume it was for time reasons but what they left in was fairly true to the original book. It made me laugh at the time, my sister was at home and watche...

Oh, you're right, Moose. It was true post WWII too, only it was more noticeable after WWI. Also society changed so much after WWII; women began to have more social freedom etc which their post war 1 mothers didn't have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't more men die in the first war and the 1918 f...

Anita, you could always try book tape. It's like sellotape, only made for mending books. I think Scotch sell their own version of it, but you can buy it from D & M Packaging as well.

Here's a link to the book tape page.
