The Enid Blyton Society

Audio Section

This section contains the many records, cassettes and cds that were issued. Some of the audio versions were multi-voiced dramatisations, whilst others were just straightforward readings of books or short stories. I have not included the various cassettes and cds that have been made from continuation novels written by authors other than Enid Blyton.

RECORDS
Enid Blyton records were first issued in the 1950s, some with Enid herself reading the stories. All of the early records were centred around Noddy, but during the 70s other Enid Blyton characters were also featured. These records were also issued as cassettes and can therefore be found in that section as well.

CASSETTES
Over a period of thirty years from the mid-1970s there were approximately 300 audio cassettes released that featured Enid Blyton books. Many of the main series of books were included either as abridged versions or as the complete original text which usually came as either three or four cassettes. I have only included double cassettes where no single ones were released and I have not included cassettes that only came as a 'book and tape' set.

CDS
In the early 2000s when cassettes became obsolete they were replaced by CDs. The majority of these came as double CDs and featured two books in a series. As this is the current way of presenting all audio work it is likely that this section will grow as more things are added.
