Enid Blyton DayFirst held in 1995, the Enid Blyton Day brings together over a hundred people each summer for a day of all things Blyton.
In between talks by noted speakers, there is ample time in which to view the displays of Blyton memorabilia, peruse the many stalls from some of the country's leading dealers of children's books, and to get to know fellow Enid Blyton collectors and enthusiasts over coffee and sandwiches. Special guests vary from year to year. In the last couple of years, TV's Famous Five actor Marcus Harris (Julian) has attended, and last year Gary Russell joined him on stage for a very entertaining trip down memory lane. Details about this year's Day are not yet confirmed, but illustrator Val Biro is likely to be there and possibly Robert Tyndall. Regular attendees include Enid Blyton's daughter Imogen Smallwood, and Enid's official biographer Barbara Stoney, both of whom have confirmed they will be present again this year. Other guests will be confirmed as soon as possible. Read all about it!In 2006 we started compiling comments and photos from attendees to bring you full reviews of the Days. Apart from serving as a permanent reminder for those who attended, these archives may go some way to placating fans who live on the other side of the world, who would like to attend but can't. And for those who can attend but are undecided about coming along, perhaps these pages will help make up your mind...
