Just a cup of tea and a bag of crisps, Daisy. Not quite the same as popcorn and chocolates!!

I've never actually seen any of The Beatles Movies. I must remedy that at some stage. The re-release of all their albums has certainly caused a massive stir of interest in all things connected with The Fab Four. I have long been thinking of a trip to Liverpool to seeThe Beatles related sights there. Has anyone been? I was in Hamburg a couple of years ago and visited The Star Club where they played before becoming famous, also the very small bar across the street whee they used to drink between sets. It was very interesting indeed.

Just going back to the DVD of Help. I watched the second disc this evening, it showed how the film was made and how it has been digitally enhanced etc, but also there was a scene that was shot but never put in, and that had the late Wendy Richard in it and the late Frankie Howard. Apparently the Beatles and Frankie Howard just couldn't work together and they had to leave out those scenes they shot. It was something to do with the Beatles never remembering their lines and ad libbing, and Frankie being a perfectionist.

Apparently Wendy Richards was really gutted that they'd decided to leave these scenes out, but they did send her the photos of the takes.

All rather interesting :)

There is a scene in Help where Dandy Nichols (Elsie Garnett from Til Death Do Us Part) and Gretchen Frankin (Ethel from Eastenders) make brief appearances. I had no idea that Wendy Richard was originally in the film. The anecdote about Frankie Howard sounds familiar, even his stage act which appeared to be ad-libbed was actually very carefully rehearsed to the point of exhaustion.

On a trip to Anfield, earlier in the year, we took a walk to Mathew Street and had a pint or two in The Cavern. Below is a pic of me standing next to John!

Nice picture, Nigel. I wonder how many people have had the same photo took standing by Lennon, quite a few I would imagine. :)

I hated posing for it! I was really embarrassed as there were hordes of tourists about, and I looked like one of them! My son insisted though.

Great photo, Nigel. :) I had mine taken on the same spot a few years back.

Well you were on holiday after all so why not do something touristy? It's a pretty cool pic, I think I'd have one taken as well if I was there. :D

Yes, Nigel. It's indeed a very nice picture. Pity John is all Black! If he was in colour and a bit realistic no one will know the diffrence.

You are one lucky person to have taken a picture with the famous John Lennon. :D

The Beatles: A Radio Show -The Days In Their Life-Ira Lipson.

In 1981, "The Beatles: The Days In Their Life" radio show was broadcast. Following The Beatles from their beginning to the end and beyond, this in-depth, 30 hour radio program filled with original music, interviews, and information was eventually broadcast in more than 50 countries.

Ive been trying to get this broadcast for ages and finally found this podcast-its a fantastic show for all Beatles fans-thought others may enjoy hearing it.

The podcast includes the first eight shows to listen to or download.

The fact that we can do this without charge is down to the kindness of the shows creator Ira Lipson who stipulated that no charge was to be made for sharing his work.
