It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

He must be psychic - there are two Ys! Well done, Mr. Woodward! (The third one was just keeping up with the Jones.)

Don't get the Mr Woodward bit (only the Jones), but I'm sure others will...

I'm going to take a stab at a guess, since this is the only name I can think of so far that would fit:

Joey's Lost Key ?

Good guess - absolutely spot on, Courtenay. Joey was a clockwork clown who had a functionality crisis when his key was lost. Could have been worse; his spring might have broke.

Thomas Woodward is the real name of Tom Jones.

Your turn now (to set a puzzle - not to change your name!)

 That's a good way of putting it!

Ah, didn't realise that — of course I know who Tom Jones is, but he's a bit before my time. More my mum's era.

Will post another one as soon as I can think of it! Apologies in advance if there's a delay. I love this game too, but it can be hard to come up with a worthwhile line — and I do have a day job that I'll have to go to in a little while...
