House at the Corner/The Land of Far Beyond by Enid Blyton

Post by Poppy »

Hi everyone!
Been looking for House at the Corner for a while, as well as The Land of Far Beyond, though they have not turned up how I imagined they would, in the charity shops. I have looked on ebay and amazon, but they are all quite expensive and I do not wish to pay very much for the books. So, I would be very grateful if anyone could sell me any unwanted copies of these books, please? :D

Poppy.

I think I have a spare paperback copy of House-at-the-Corner which you're welcome to have if I can find it. I'll have a good look tomorrow. Hope I'm not raising your hopes only to dash them - tidiness is not one of my virtues! If you get a more reliable offer in the meantime go ahead!

Poppy I'm really sorry but I don't know where House-at-the-Corner has got to. I've also had a look for it in a couple of charity shops but it seems to be playing hard to get. I'll let you know if I have any luck!

No worries, Lawrie! I've been looking in the charity shops for ages, too, and it certainly does seem a hard one to get my hands on. Don't worry about it, I'll have a look on ebay and see if I can spot any bargains! :D

I'll gladly keep a lookout for the two books for you, Poppy. If I manage to find copies, I'll send you a PM. :D

I think it would be cheaper ordering a new one from Amazon as long as you use the super saver delivery.

Amazon.co.uk is usually the best place to look for "wanted" books, and they're usually cheaper than anywhere else. :D

Thanks, Eddie, Moonraker, and Fiona!

Usually when you're not looking for a book it turns up, but when you do, it's really hard to get hold of... I never seem to have seen either of these books in any charity shops, though... :(

We did have the Land of Far Beyond in our Library, but all the Enid Blyton books seem to have vanished from both of our town Libraries, overnight... There used to be a lot of them too - they had their own shelf! :D
