Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with login issues while posting replies recently?

Three times today I have logged in, read some posts and wanted to reply, then pressed Reply, written out a great long post, pressed Submit, and then been greeted by a page that says I need to login to post replies, so I login again, write it all out again, press Submit and am greeted by the login page again!

Obviously I am logged in while replying or else I wouldn't be able to access the reply box to type in, but then it seems to think I'm not logged in!

I'm not cross, please don't think that I'm whinging hehe! Just curious to know if it's just me or if anyone else has had this!

I used to have that problem quite a lot, but thankfully not for ages. I've no idea why it happened, and unlike you, I did get very cross with the computer. In the end, I tried to remember to copy all the text before I submitted it, then if it logged me out, I just logged back in again, and pasted my reply into a new reply box. As that only took a few seconds, I was able to submit it without being logged out.

I can copy and paste if it's a short reply , but my phone will only copy shortish/mid length pieces of text so if it's a long reply then I've got no chance haha!

Well I will just hope that it will go away like yours did, it doesn't always do it every time, so fingers crossed!

I think you might have to clear the cookies on your browser. If you're using Google Chrome, go to Tools > Clear Browsing Data, and make sure to check the boxes dealing with cookies and cache.

I'm not using Chrome, I'm using the default Nokia browser on C300 S40 O/S but I have cleared cache and cookies so we'll see if that helps!

Funnily enough this has just happened to me now...
It has happened on numerous occasions to me however, I have no idea why. I usually highlight the text and click on the option "copy" if I write a long post. This way, if it does happen, just left hand click the box and select "paste".

I think I might start writing out long posts on my laptop and then bluetoothing them to my phone to post, just so I have a proper copy of the post somewhere at least and don't have to keep rewriting them on my phone!

I don't know if it'll work on a phone but if it happens to me I just click 'back' on my browser and the text box still has my post in it. Obviously you're not logged in, but it at least gives you the chance to copy and paste if you've been caught unawares.

Tried that Fiona, it works on my laptop but not on my phone, my phone just reloads the page with a blank text box.

Even though I'm only going 'back' by pressing 'back' it seems to actually reload the previous page rather than just literally returning to it how I left it.

My advice was really meant for the computer, I forget that people can access the internet on phones.

It has never happened to me, but then I never log out. Cathy, why do you use your phone so much???

Nigel, I never log out either, but the computer logs me out automatically if it's switched off. Sometimes it's logs me out if it crashes and I have to refresh a page, occasionally, as Cathy has experienced, it has logged me out while I'm actually using it.

Have you checked the box that says, "Log me in automatically" (or it might be "keep me logged in")?

Because I don't have broadband so my phone is the only way I can go online.
