I'm a bit puzzled as to how a darker background would help to make the dark type any clearer. It was pointed out just the other day that clicking on the printer icon at the right in the band across the top of the page you wish to read brings up the page in a completely different format. I wonder if that might be any better for you? It's all black type on a white background - perhaps clearer than the shaded areas we normally see.

Text colour can also be changed, Daisy. In this case, white letters on a dark backdround.

I think there can be an option in the UCP whether you want the normal site view or white text on a black background.
