And I too might very well endeavour to make a journey to next year's EB day...

It too will be my first time, and I, like many others, am a very shy, quiet individual.
Whatever awaits behind closed doors,
Strange noises in the cellar or the sound of creaky floors,
We never let a mystery pass us by,
Just leave a clue and leave the rest to the Famous Five.

If you went you'd see quite a few of us from the forums, Icecream, and you'd be welcome to come over and introduce yourself. :) When I first went to an Enid Blyton Day (on my own) back in 2002 I knew absolutely no one - apart from Tony. But by the time I left Loddon Hall I had got to know a number of people. Over the years I've met more and more people and some have become great friends. So come along if you get the chance!

I think my first EB day was 2008? and wasn't on the forums at this point, and I certainly didn't know anyone. I was quite happy milling around being in the same room as like minded people. When I joined the forums and saw the pictures I noticed familar people from the day so it wasn't so bad when I was there in 2009- I could put names to faces.

Actually I think the first person I bumped into was Viv! :D

Occastionally the only problem is putting screen names to proper names and things get confusing! I know the first couple of times I went as a forumite everyone was calling me Pippa or Pippa-Stef. Not that I minded. I liked being called Pippa!

It's very easy to find people. If you know one person in the end you get introduced to everyone else.
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

On my first visit I added my forum name to the label we are all supplied with when we arrive. It was great putting faces to the familiar names. As others have said, you soon make friends because you feel you know them already.

If it wasn't for attending an Enid Blyton Day, I wouldn't have met Ming! Icecream, you never know, you might even meet your future husband in Loddon Hall!

Surely you'd have to come with your parents, anyway, Ice-cream!
