It was about what I expected. A quick tally tells me I spent about $2000 on three plane tickets, and $1100 spending money (including a week at a "castle"). I'm not sure if that total would be considered expensive to others or not, but in my case it's not exactly cheap!

But it was all well worth it. :D

Excellent review of the EB Day, Keith, and the photos are good too. I am in just one of them, back view only, which is a relief. It is my best side.

 We'll have to get a better one of you at a future Day, Kate!

A great report of the Day, Keith!

Wow Keith.

So if you came back again in 2 years time, you'd still have to save ~$133 dollars every month between now and then to cover the costs! That's assuming maybe a shift in exchange rates to counter inflation!

In the circumstances it was even nicer to have a couple of minutes of your company. 8)

Eeek! Put like that, it sounds REALLY expensive!! :?

Glad y'all liked the report and photos though. This year I took advantage of my webmaster-type role and wrote the report from my own point of view -- because with my little girl starting school this year, I'm not really sure how I'm going to make another trip during May in the future. It's a horrible thought, but I may not get to go again for... well, quite some time! (They take a very dim view of kids dropping school for three weeks over here.)

Tony, I hereby request that you move EB Day to the summer holidays. It makes more sense because I'm sure more families can travel during school holidays. And besides, it's more Blytonish! :D

"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

I sometimes get the feeling that nobody ever visits the Home Page (I know that very few check the site Update, which is at the top of every page)!! On the Home Page is an index and on that index is Enid Blyton Day. If you click that it will give you links to the last three Enid Blyton Days!

I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again, but there is more to this site than just the Forums!!

Hmm...it's probably a bit difficult to find the report as the main Enid Blyton Day banner still reads, "Official reviews and photos will be along in about a week"!

However, it is well worth finding! A great report, Keith. My word, we are so fortunate to have you at the IT helm and Tony at the organising department. You have surpassed yourself, Keith, this time! (This time? Isn't it every time?)

I note that Viv is still plugging Dorset, as Corfe Castle is prominent in the painting - I gather it wasn't in the original. More perpetuating the myth that Corfe is Kirrin! Tony - a great pic of you with Esra, you lucky dog!

It was a great privilege to hold the Summit in our grounds, and truly marvellous to welcome Keith, Nessa, Lily, Anita, Tony and Barney into our garden. It is a memory I will always cherish.

Your garden is a haven of peace and tranquility, Nigel, and you and Jane made us all feel very welcome. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be there.
