Still, it is only 6 years of reminding Nigel about his map reading skills! :)

It is all coming back to me now - luckily we got a lift from Shadow who seemed to know the way. I have a feeling that this took place in 'The Enid Blyton Day' of 2010 (only 6 years ago!).
That sounds like the one I went to. If so, it was 2012. Great memories!

I haven't been to an EB Day since 2009 - but even I have heard of Nigel getting everyone lost. ;-) Legend!

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Have to admit, there's something about the story that almost sounds psalmodic:

Nigel is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to drive down to Dinton Pastures...

In pastures green he leadeth me (the wrong direction)...
The quiet waters by... :D

Maybe we can get this thread back on track now.

Apart from John and myself, is anyone else staying overnight on the Friday 1st, June?

Haha - I've just caught up with this thread. It is good to see we have a fine company of comedians amongst us! In my defence, I will offer a mitigating circumstance in that I saw a signpost for Dinton Pastures, but it took us to a different location from where we had the picnic. That I made the same error the following year does not bode well!
Nigel is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to drive down to Dinton Pastures...
Maybe, should we visit again at some point, I might maketh you to lie down in Dinton Pastures, Courtenay. Just to keep it authentic with the psalm! :D

As long as you don't lead them all to sit down by the rivers of Babylon, Nigel. ;-)

I've been keeping an eye on this date but can now confirm that I won't be able to make it. So far I'm triple booked, unfortunately 2 out of 3 of the bookings are for taxi services for the children!!
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy
