Just to add my thoughts - I am very keen to meet up and suggest we choose the most popular date so far, which seems to be Saturday 17 October and go for Beckonscot with a pub lunch near-by. Blyton Close in Beaconsfield could be visited after lunch. As before, once a date and programme has been agreed, more people nearer the time will commit. So - shall we agree and go for it?

I don't mind, Sally on that date.

But we have to have a suggested time for a meet up somewhere. And we have to remember that some may be travelling that day by train too. So do we meet up at a pub for lunch, then go on to Beckinscot and then stroll up to Blyton Close?

I have checked and Saturday October 17th is fine for me. But I wouldn't be able to travel until the Saturday morning so I would have to leave very early to make it for lunch.

I don't see why some of us can't meet up in Beaconsfield and then we can organize something that suits more at a different time of year for next year in more advance?

Beaconskot is nice, Fiona and I have been before and enjoyed it. You can order food therem or we can take a picnic, but the only problem is that there is no where really to shelter if to does rain, so I suggest rainmacks, and sturdy waterproof boots at the ready like proper Blytonian explorers.

Plus, I'm close enough to Beaconsfield to find a suitable place for us to eat should we not want to trek all the way to the Spade Oak (I think the prices have gone up and the menu got smaller, last time I went there).

Just a thought or two!
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

I don't mind meeting up at the village and eating in their café. But I think it was also suggested somewhere along the line, there is the Red Lion on Penn Road, where they have an Enid Blyton room, where we could meet there and have lunch, and then pop down the road to the model village. I think it closes around 5.30pm, so plenty of time, and then if those of us want to see Enid Blyton Close, we can pop up Penn Road for some photos near the sign.

Just another idea that was put forward.

In the interest of keeping arrangements simple, suggest we meet at the Red Lion (provided they are happy to cater for a good number and pre-book space) and then travel to the model village, as Julie suggests. Are we going for 17 October then? If so, someone needs to volunteer to organise/contact the Red Lion/check logistics etc ideally.

The date and venue is okay with me. We just need a leader to organize this I guess. Are you up for it Sally?

Guess I have landed myself with a job now Julie! Happy to call the Red Lion and check what they can do and provide some background info. Leave with me a few days and I will make a few suggestions for everyone to consider.

Just caught up with this thread. At this stage October 17th would seem to be OK with me. I would love to come and see all you wonderful forumites . One thing though - can someone slow time on the day to stop it rushing by at the speed these events seem to go at!

Not sure if I'll be going to this event, now. Being rather late in the year, I think I'll just be spending the last few days at our van, and getting it ready to close up for the winter. I think I'd rather make the trip next year during spring or summer, as we have to spend a couple of nights away, due to distance.

Plenty of photos will be great to see though, for those of you who do attend. :)
