Sounds good, Tony - I'll have to look out for his book (and some of those by other authors that I haven't read yet) as well. Thanks!

By the way, I can't help noticing there's a book that seems to be missing from your bibliography - one by a Stephen someone-or-other that ends with something to do with "dotage"... :P

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I'm afraid that there are a few more recent books missing from that Section as it is one that I don't have access to, but certainly Duncan McLaren and Tess Livingstone should have books there.

Encouraging that the speaker is David Rudd. I'm only familiar with him through his article in Journal 51 and the occasional mention here, but Tony seems to think highly of him so that's good enough for me.

Any author who devotes a chapter to proving that Enid's use of golliwogs is NOT racist (I found that out from a review of his book) is more than good enough for me!! 8)

According to "The Eagles" this must have happened, when they split up once they said they would only reunite when hell froze.

Well, I've put in a request to work morning shift on Thursday 12 February, so I'll finish work at 3 and will have the evening free. I've also booked my ticket for the lecture! :D

Well, I've got my ticket to the lecture, but there are still quite a few left if anybody else is interested. I'm quite looking forward to seeing the exihibition now, and as I've never been to Canterbury, I'm looking forward to seeing the town as well.

I hope that those going to the lecture at the Canterbury Beaney tomorrow enjoy both it and the exhibition. I haven't seen it myself although I did get an invite to the launch on January 31st. I actually accepted the invite but cancelled a few days before due to timing (11.00 on Saturday morning) and weather forecast (very cold!).

I see that there are still 25 tickets available!

Yes, I'm really looking forward to it now. Who else is going? Courtenay are you still going? Anyone else?

I had hoped to go to the talk, but it wasn't practical, because of trying to get a train home afterwards. I could have stayed with my daughter, but that meant trying to arrange childcare for my youngest daughter for the school run on Friday morning. Instead we've pencilled in a day trip during half-term just to see the exhibition.

Yes, I'm still going - I'll be taking the train after work tomorrow, expecting to arrive in Canterbury about 5 pm. Looking forward to the talk!
