I have to say I haven't even thought about it yet, but it will actually be my 50th Journal. I did actually redo the first ten to make sure they all had contents pages (none did originally) and also gave eight of them colour covers, but I can only claim to have done the next 49 entirely on my own. I am sure there is somebody out there eagerly waiting to do the next 50!
Very much looking forward to receiving Journal 60 this summer. Can't wait!

I see that the contents page for Journal 60 is now up in the Journal section - and the cover looks great too! I have the Poppy Story Book - and it's a really nice illustration!
Looking forward to reading so many of the articles - but it's really good to see Anita is tackling Happy House - some of my favourite books as a child.

Just to clarify, I have had to put this up at least two weeks earlier than usual as I have sold out of Journal 59 and this is therefore for the benefit of any new members who will receive Journal 60 as the first of their three issues. It will be a while before Journal 60 is available though.

Looks like a great list of articles again. Very interested to read Rob's article about The Adventure of the Strange Ruby as I really enjoyed this book when I read it for the first time a few years ago.

Ah yes,
Strange Ruby was one I always enjoyed as a child too. I'll look forward to reading Rob's thoughts on it.

Yes,me too.
I think I last commented on the book back in 2011,so I will be curious to see what pointers from the book emerge from the rack of Rob's mind.
I think his forthcoming Junoesque review of this book is arguably one he has wanted to get off his chest for quite some time.

Two of the illustrations in the book surprised me (one at the beginning of the book and the other later in the story) as they depict the statue of an eastern lady,naked with large voluptuous breasts,firm, rounded and extremely pert.
I wonder did these illustrations cause any comment when the book was first released in 1960?

You seem to be at the peak of your punning, Pete and Courtenay. What a pair! I too am looking forward to Rob's evaluation of Adventure of the Strange Ruby - his articles are always full and balanced.

Also on the dust wrapper, Pete...
As you can see, the dust wrapper depiction is also 'full and balanced'

I'm surprised that a book released in 1960 should not have Enid's by then famous signature on the cover. I wonder if there is any particular reason for this.
