I didn't receive a notification from EBS in my inbox when you posted your answer, that's why I discovered it not before today.

some notifications (about 1 in 20) go straight to 'junk' mail - no idea why, but that's what happens with mine, I've noticed!

I always check my spam folder, but never had any EBS notifications in there...guess I was lucky. Maybe they sometimes just don't get sent.

Although we are now smaller and trimmer than we have been in the past and it looks probable that subscription for Journal 60 will be the smallest since the start of this website in 2005, on the bright side this is the first time ever that the Spring Journal has had 50% of resubscriptions in by the end of March. It is also worth saying that although Journal 58 got far less comments on the forums than any other recent Journal, the resubscription figure after it of 76% (so far!) is also a record.

It was encouraging to see number 59 get more comments than a Journal has got for a while - many more than number 58 anyway...but a shame to hear that number 60 will probably have less takers. It's all swings and roundabouts...odd the way it happens! We need some big Blyton event to get the public's interest going again!

lol - sort of - but I was thinking more of a centenary, anniversary, new movie, newly discovered Blyton manuscript, etc etc!

Well, it's the 120th anniversary of her birth next year, the 50th anniversary of her passing in two years' time, there's supposed to be a Faraway Tree film in the works, there are so many other films/TV series that could be made if only producers realised how many people of all ages love Enid Blyton, and as for newly discovered manuscripts... we can always hope, can't we?

Adult interest in Blyton is a niche market! I'm happy to say I've renewed my subscription. I would hate to miss any future issues of the Journal.

I find it interesting that pretty much every adult I mention Enid Blyton to comes over all misty eyed and reminisces loudly and enthusiastically about how much they love her books. I guess they don't love her books 'enough' as adults to reread them, or, better still, to subscribe to the Journal. It's a pity that more adults don't make that jump between reminiscing and actually wanting to explore their memories further!

Which doesn't amaze me at all. EBS Journal # 58 was my favorite so far since I subscribed. Just perfect.

It's strange that a Journal that had very few comments also encouraged more people to resubscribe!

Hopefully Journal 59 will have a similar effect - because it really was a smashing Journal!
