The Society Journal - an excellent read!
I'll start the ball rolling by saying how much I always enjoy the Enid Blyton Society Journal. It is always full of interesting articles, especially ones about collectables, book covers, calendars etc. I've always loved the articles about various blyton serials, and David Cooks excellent articles were what encouraged me to start writing for the journal too. I think its a pity I'm the first to add my comments to this particular topic, and hope others will soon. The writers of the articles, and especially Tony Summerfield, all work very hard to get the journal to its current standard, and it seems a shame that no-one seems to comment on its contents.
hope more people do so soon!

Hello Robert
I agree the journal is a good read. Your article 'Enid Blyton's Younger 'FAMILY' Books' was very interesting. I myself have only joined recently, at the start of January and number 25 is my first journal so I haven't read part one, but I am getting it now as a back issue and look forward to reading it, as well as the continuations in future issues. Have you written many articles for previous journals?
There are several other pieces I enjoyed in the latest journal such as 'these are his enid blytons' by terry gustofson. I' glad of the 'from the bookshelf' page too, for I also got a set of the birns booklets for my collection.
the cover for number 25 was a great idea for its the silver anniversary of the society journal.

Back issues of the Journal
Neasa said that "I am getting it (Issue 25) now as a back issue ...".
I'm intrigued! Is it possible to buy back issues of the Journal? If so, how do you go about it?
regards

Blyton Country ....
it is great, and I try to get into the Purbecks as often as possible.
However, the powers-that-be at work have decided that I am so busy I can't take any time off work until late August.
Just walking round Corfe Castle for an hour or so makes life worth living ....

Re: The Society Journal - an excellent read!
The changing of European currency ruined a joke I tried to make the other day.
My son had just received the results of a German test he had taken at school. He told me he'd received so many marks. I turned round and said 'oh, they paid you to take the test then?' He just looked at me blankly and couldn't understand why I was grinning. Then it dawned on me, he probably can't remember a time when Germans used the Deutsch Mark.
OK, I know it was a fairly feeble joke in the first place.

yes, I will see, if I bought the items to Enid Blyton I seek how much money is in my wallett. In the moment I seek for the two letters of George you know - and the article to the wonderful adventure from Tony Sommerfield (These would be the most important things - sigh) - I suppose I will place a subscription for the Blyton Journal in the middle of the next yearAnita Bensoussane wrote:Or Euro these days!
