Looks to me like it's only the first book to judge from that link. Where do you see the next four? The cover is actually OK but I wonder why it is necessary to release this book yet again with yet another different cover. £10.99 is quite expensive too considering you can pick up the first TEN books in the series for less than that at some discount booksellers.

It reminds me of the similar-looking edition of The Island of Adventure that came out a couple of years ago:

Nice quality, but I was put off by the fact that The Island of Adventure had updated text. I wonder if the same thing will apply to Five on a Treasure Island, etc.

It's a shame, really, because although lovely presentation hardbacks of this series are nice to have, I think the covers are a bit uninspired. Also, we have SO many FF editions knocking around, I'd quite like a nice set of the Adventure series in hardback with original illustrations instead.

Why are there aeroplanes on the cover of the new Five Run Away Together??? Maybe some dunderhead in the design department mixed it up with The Valley of Adventure...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I'm mystified by the aeroplane design on Five Run Away Together too. I'd have expected to see aeroplanes on Five Go to Billycock Hill!

The anchors on Five Go Adventuring Again are just as puzzling!

I was actually told a while back (by Hachette) that the first three books were being published in September as hardbacks and if I have read the description correctly the big difference is that all the Eileen Soper illustrations are going to be in colour. The listing on Amazon and on the Hachette site say that this is the first time that the illustrations have been in colour, but someone seems to have forgotten the the millennium editions in paperback were also in colour. As far as the text goes I think you will find that there is total uniformity in all editions from now on and that the text being used in the 1997 one.

Something that might cheer people up is that I was asked recently if I could provide some original text for short stories as they were keen to put the currency back into shillings and pence in future books.

That is good news Tony. Thank you.
Now if only Betty Maxey's internals could be presented in colour.

Good news indeed. Let's hope they put a bit more back other than shillings and pence. :)

I really would love to see her internals in full colour.
Maybe someone skilled and artistic like Rob could have a bash?

Which Betty Maxey pic would be best to colour in? I've found some coloured pencils and felt tips.
