I have the Dossier - but still missed it! I think the cave is a great resource - but obviously, its so massive, and crammed with so many good things, that often we don't spot things unless we do a search for a particular item. :-D

Sorry about your Windows XP troubles, Tony. The Pixie adaptations look great!

I hope you manage to sort out your Windows XP troubles, Tony. I can't offer any advice I'm afraid, as I've always used Mac computers. In fact I've recently bought a new iMac and it is so different from my old one, which I've had for seven years, that I have been tearing my hair out trying to master it.

One thing you will find, Tony, if you move on from XP is that no other version since XP is as convenient or has as many features, as XP did!

I must admit, I'm used to Windows 10 now, but I don't think its an improvement - and in many ways its not even half as good.

Not exactly from the Cave of Books, but I thought this was a good place to discuss these! I've been following this on eBay, and meant to bid...but forgot. Anyway it went above £30 which was way over what I intended to pay!

I've seen these books in The Cave and other places, but never seen all four of them together in the original 'Album' sleeve, as its described here. Were they sold separately too, or always as a set?

I have never seen this, so I hope you got it Rob! I normally think that boxed sets often come out as an afterthought, sometimes if books aren't selling that well as individual books and it is a way of making sure that people buy all four instead of one or two. With a slight alteration these same books were also sold by Hackett's, Australia. Katy and Her Dreams is a book that was never published in this country. These books have a Hachette Librarie copyright in them.

Like others which we have talked about before I suspect that these books were originally written in French and they certainly have a French illustrator. I also suspect that Enid never wrote them and certainly didn't translate them, but simply 'lent' her name to them. I can't find any of mine which is not all that surprising, but I must have them as they are my scans! :D I know that Darrell Waters felt the same which is why they have never been reprinted.

Unfortunately, I didn't! :-( The bidding started at £4.99 I think - haven't checked, but it went over £30 and I was too late to bid by the time I realised, and the auction had finished. :-(

Yes, the faces - and bodies - are very sketchy.

Nice one of Julian looking like he's about to run in an Olympic event, though. 8)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
