What Enid Blyton book have you recently bought?

It's over 120 pieces, and it struck me that more modern Noddy puzzles would only be around 60 pieces tops. Does this mean Noddy puzzles are aimed at much younger children these days?

Anyway, for just £1.99 I think I got a bargain!

Either that, or children of Noddy-reading age are assumed to be less smart than in previous generations. I could easily do jigsaw puzzles of 100 pieces or more when I was 4 or 5 years old.

Doesn't Noddy have a bit of a history concerning lions? I seem to remember that he ran away from Old Man Carver partly because he was scared of a lion that the old man was carving. Despite his fear, one of the first things Noddy did when he came to Toyland was to rescue a doll from one of the Noah's Ark lions. Maybe it has borne a grudge against him ever since!

Maybe, although I seem to recall that Enid assures us in the story that the lion was actually only trying to be friendly and wasn't intending to frighten the baby doll. Still, it's a heartwarming turn of events that, after running away in the first place because he was afraid of the lion that Old Man Carver was making, Noddy finds the courage to rescue the baby doll from the Noah's Ark lion — and that's the act that convinces the judge, in the end, that Noddy is worthy to be counted as a real toy and to stay in Toyland forever. I do love that story.

That's a lovely jigsaw Rob . If I had that, once it was completed the right way, I'd have to make it up again upside down. I love the challenge of doing jigsaws upside down with no picture to follow! and that one looks a good one to try it with

I bought a Bom annual the other day, along with a 'Rainbow' annual (1952). Together they were £9.99 and the Bom annual had a dust jacket. They arrived today, and the jacket wasn't quite as good as I thought - but better than the seller had described it, as they had said 'partial wrapper'.

I took a photo before and after I made repairs. I know many people think repairing wrappers as I do is sacrilege, lol - but for my own use, I prefer them mended.

Not one of my best mending jobs, but at least it looks slightly better!
