Ok EB fans, what do I need to take to explore it?

torch,
rope,
borrow a dog/monkey from someone
map
sandwiches, cake, and lashings of ginger beer
a selection of FF, FFO, MT, Barney books in case I get trapped or caught by villians,
pencil & paper for writing a message when I'm captured (which can be tied to the monkey/dog)
a baker's boy disguise
oranges

I'll also be on the lookout for fairground people, metal rings in stone, flashing lights, green gloves, twins, wells, spook trains, and foreigners. And I'll leave my mobile phone at home, otherwise it'll be too easy to be rescued.

Anything else I should take, or need to watch out for?

As soon as I read this BBC Scotland web story my heart sank. I just knew that Perce would want to go there and then, lo and behold, is he not just off the phone to me asking if I would like to join him on an adventure/ I gave him short shrift, I can tell you. The last adventure Perce persuade me to join him on involved travelling down to Ring O'Bells Hall in search of treasure - and all that we achieved was running into that maniac Snowy, losing the treasure to (another maniac) Katharine and enduring a forlorn journey back North. So, I've opted out of this one but I know he will set off soon. No doubt he'll come back with some weird and wonderful tale.

Actually, with all this snow again in Central Scotland, wouldn't it be amusing if Perce ran into Snowy down in that dark tunnel? Let's hope so.

Don't forget to take a newspaper and some wire to retrieve a key, if you're locked up in a room.

A stick of chalk might be useful, in case it turns out to be a maze of passages and you need to mark which turnings you've taken. Oh, and a canary in a cage!

You might also consider a talking parrot which could scare off any baddies with an impression of a steam train.

I'll lend you Morgan, providing I can come along of course! I've got plenty of chocolate.

And a dog which understands spoken English and which knows instantly whether or not the random stranger you meet is a goodie or a baddie.

(PS - if you have this dog, you won't need Anita's stick of chalk!)

It's just the kind of secret passage that Timmy and the children would find. The robbers would be cornered by Timmy whilst George contacted the police. Where were the F.F. when we needed them?!
