I have been sent a cutting from the Swanage and Wareham Advertiser, published on May 31st 2012, which has the sad news that Gordon James passed away on May 22nd 2012.

Very sad news regarding Gordon James :cry: I just hope he didn't suffer towards the end. RIP Lucas. :cry:

Yes. Very sad. Our sympathies go to Gordon's family. He will certainly be remembered when we re-read Five Have a Mystery to Solve.

I just saw this come up on Facebook.

How terribly sad but he certainly had a long and interesting life. My condolences to his family.

Goes off to read 5 have a mystery to solve in his memory

What a wonderful epitaph. I am sure all of us would have
loved a mention in a Famous Five. We wish his family
many condolences.

Sad news indeed. Condolenses to his family, and they must be so honoured to know that everyone can remember him when they read the book Five Have a Mystery to Solve.
