Peter, definitely. Philip and Dinah Mannering, Sally Hope, Alicia Johns, June Johns, Mr Goon (!) and sometimes even Fatty!

Pip from the mysteries could do with a swift boxing now and again as could Julian from the Five. But what about Sid and Perce! ooooh I can feel a box coming on!
When I'm grown up I won't forget the things I think today.

Alicia Johns! She could really be cruel, I always thought. I admired her sharpness but she was way out of line sometimes..and never really seemed to get pulled up for it. (Nice name though, 'Alicia''!)

Do you know, I read this as 'which character's ears would you most like to HAVE' and I thought .. what a bizarre question!
Let's see.. Mirabel was a huge pain in fifth form but as she's a lot bigger and stronger than me prolly not a good idea to try hitting her . Perhaps Carlotta because, much as I like her, it bothered me that she would hit people and noone ever hit her back. Or Darrell, for the same reason!

Rose Longfield. If ever a person could really have done with a good sound box on the ears it was her. And that applies to both of the books she appeared in. She was just one of the most helpless, selfish moaning minnies that I have ever read about. Grrr.

I'm part way through re-reading the Secret Seven and I have to agree with those of you calling for Peter to get a clip round the ear -what an annoying little cuss he is!
I was so appalled at his treatment of Jack in - Shock for the Secret Seven, that I was hoping that the ending was slightly different than I recall and Scamper was never found, Jack did form a new Secret Seven and EB wrote about the new gang in future books!

I second Rose Longfield!
Also, Gwendoline from Malory Towers. My fingers itch every time I read about her!

Without a doubt... Julian's. What an arrogant boy he is.
