There's an article in The Birmingham Mail today which mentions how the Famous Five's 'Kirrin Cottage' has come top in a list of Midlander's favourite places to live!
Unfortunately I can't find a link to a page online anywhere, but basically the article says -
A cottage featured in Enid Blyton's Famous Five children's books has been voted the most popular desired des res by people in the West Midlands.
The property, which is home to George and her family in the series of much-loved children's books, was chosen as the perfect home by nearly a third of local residents surveyed, it has emerged.
The cottage, located on Kirrin Island (Shame they made such a stupid mistake, but I guess there had to be one!! ) took the number one spot - beating other famous properties including the Geordie Shore house and Buckingham Palace.
It seems land-locked Brummies also favour a seaside residence, with the quaint Cornish cottage owned by ITV's Doc Martin being voted in second place...
