Definitely 'A Story Party at Green Hedges' (or Enid Blyton's picnic Party, which was the 'sequel'.)

Enid writes invitations (including one for the reader to fill in) describes what food she will have, welcomes the children, reads each guest a special story just for them, and also hosts a wonderful tea party halfway through the stories. Great illustrations as well, featuring Enid Blyton. :-D
