Not sure about poor Anita being Dame Slap...obviously you've been on the wrong side of her more often than the rest of us!
He may well have been!

I rather like the idea of being a Silky who morphs into a Dame Slap when the need arises. Aunt Fanny and Lucy-Ann appeal too, as does the character in my avatar who is a golden-haired doll from a story about toys.

If only!
pete9012S wrote:I would love to play Dick Kirrin or Fatty, but I know in my heart the role of Snubby is much more suited to my acting ability!
Are you sure it would require any acting?

Oh yes - you'd be great as Tassie!

I can see Katharine as a wise, smiling, hard-working mother-figure like Aunt Fanny, Aunt Linnie (the Six Cousins books) or Mrs. Mackenzie (The Six Bad Boys).

Thanks Anita. Not sure I could cope with an Uncle Quentin as a husband though. I still haven't managed to get hold of The Six Bad Boys, so don't know what Mrs. MacKenzie is like.

Hehe thanks! Every time my hair is in a mess I always think of when Tassie turns up at the cottage and the children say "There's Tassie! She's got her blue frock on, but her hair's all in a tangle again!"

Yes I think Katharine would be good as Aunt Linnie, very loving and kind, a good mother, very homely. :)

I hasten to add that I've no idea how messy (or not) your hair is, Cathy! When I said you'd be great as Tassie, I was thinking of your gentle nature and your love of animals and the countryside.

Anyone brave enough to suggest a role for Uncle Tony?

There may be a free years Journal Subscription in it for you if he likes your suggestion.
On the other hand if he doesn't like your choice........

I'll go for Mr King the Barney 'R' Mysteries holiday tutor who was really an undercover secret agent....

I agree...good choice!

We haven't given Francis a role yet I don't think...

I think, on the whole, I'll be Bets, so I still get to help solve crimes but don't have to do anything too dangerous. If I were Lotta, I'd need a stunt double for the riding scenes!!

Have we decided who's playing Fatty yet?

Maybe Francis could be Francis from The Children at Green Meadows - a caring, helpful boy.

All great suggestions! :D :D

I think I might take a slightly less prominent role - maybe as Daisy (FFO) or Janet from the Secret Seven. Who's going to be Susie?!

May I nominate Francis as Mr Luffy, the good natured, friendly boys tutor in the Famous Five?
Although I don't know if Francis can waggle his ear??

His ears always fascinated Anne. They were large and turned rather forward, and Mr Luffy could waggle the right one if he wanted to. To his great sorrow he had never been able to waggle the left one...

Wow, that's great! I'd love to watch it!
Robert Houghton wrote:In truth, given how many people dislike the various Famous Five, Secret and Adventure films/series, I'm sure none of us would like it at all!!
I have only watched two episodes of a Famous Five TV show, and although they did not really do justice to the stories, and missed out a lot of good parts, they were quite entertaining, and I would love to watch the rest of them too. I am sure it is the same with the films too, and deep inside we all like them! :)

As for the cast discussion going on, I would love to be Anne Kirrin, or Peggy from "The Secret Island". I would also like to be Dinah, Silky or Darrell Rivers.
