I almost suggested that! Maybe Nigel to play Bill... ;-)

Anita could play a few roles - maybe Silky or Anne or Diana (sorry Anita if you don't like any of them!)

I think Viv of Ginger Pop would be a good George...or maybe Julie.

I see Anita more as Dame Slap. I could be the Angry Pixie, although I do look more like Tresilian's Bill Smugs.

That's Ragamuffin Jo cast, then! We'll expand her part so that she eventually takes charge of The Famous Five. ;-)

I definitely think that's Bill Smugs cast - Nigel is a dead ringer! ;-)

Not sure about poor Anita being Dame Slap...obviously you've been on the wrong side of her more often than the rest of us!

I'll be Tassie because I've always got messy hair and I love animals! :)

Great suggestions so far, although I can't see Anita as Dame Slap. Someone more long suffering and diplomatic, Aunt Fanny perhaps?

I'd like to be Lotta, since she's my favourite character, but I've got straight blonde hair rather than curly black hair — oh yeah, and I can barely ride a horse with a saddle, let alone without!! Anyway, they probably won't let us feature Galliano's Circus for PC reasons.

I'd offer to be Allie so I get to marry Bill, but it would depend entirely on who plays Bill...

Maybe I'd better stay on the safe side and play a non-human character. I've got it — one of the most talkative and irritating characters in all Blyton, and possibly (if she really is a cockatoo) the only one who's Australian in origin... I'll be Kiki.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Or Mrs Trotteville...? Or maybe Lucy-Ann?.

Good suggestions so far!

I would love to play Dick Kirrin or Fatty, but I know in my heart the role of Snubby is much more suited to my acting ability!

Any budding character actors fancy taking on the role of Eunice Tolling or PC Goon??? :D

Who's the character in Anita's avatar? Anita looks just like her in real life.

Courtenay...I think you'd make a good Lotta - according to your avatar, you look like her! ;-) Of course, Lotta would help to solve crimes, and ride in the ring every night.

I think maybe Eddie would make a good Superintendent Jenks...a smiley good natured type.

And Daisy/Ilsa would be a good Aunt Grace - a kindly but no nonsense approach! 8)

John Pickard - maybe Captain Arnold - in this version, he often joins with Bill to solve international crimes, flying to exotic places.

Oh, I've just thought of my other favourite one whom I'd love to be — Bets. But I'm probably too grown-up for that now.

Courtenay - I'm sure you could be Bets! :-)

As for Goon - I volunteer for that part! I enjoy character parts, and I'm good at saying 'GAH!'

Pete - Fatty or Snubby would be great - if you fancy being Fatty, it's a 'bigger' part than Snubby (pardon the pun!)

Looks like a good cast so far!

I think Lucy-Ann is an excellent suggestion for Anita.

The only person I can think I'd be is Gwendoline Mary as I hate sports and getting cold, but I hope I haven't got her other characteristics.
