Where exactly was Green Hedges?

Just to nail down the exact position of Green Hedges in relation to the present-day site, I overlaid a map from the early 1970s onto the most recent aerial photograph from Google Maps:

The green arrow points to Green Hedges: the road appears to pass right through the site of the house.
