The One Show

Post by Moonraker »

Last night's The One Show, (7pm BBC1) had a feature on food and the Famous Five. Watch it again here. It is featured almost from the start, so is well worth watching. There's even a "geek" interviewed who has listed hundreds of facts!

Thanks for the info, Nigel. I'll make a point of watching the show over the weekend.

Thanks, Nigel. The relevant part starts about 11 minutes into the programme. Fancy someone going to the trouble of drawing up a food chart!

I was surprised to see a feature on Stonehenge/Amesbury/Salisbury as well!

Not too surprising as we've just had the summer solstice.

How amazing that the man has actually made a spread sheet of everything they'v eaten in the F.F. books, nice to hear that he actually made the reference to the fact that Enid never said lashing of gingerbeer!

I've not seen it yet, I didn't realise it was about the Solstice.

I walked in halfway through it last night, but I have just watched it again on Nigel's link. Josh Sutton was his name, but he is not a registered member of the forums and does not he belong to the Society despite being a Famous Five food fanatic!

"Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only..."

The BBC hates us, doesn't it? Anyone knows if this is available on YouTube?

I saw it when it was on TV. I'm sure someone's already posted a link, a long time ago, to an article about that guy. I've definitely seen an extract of his chart before.

As I was watching it in the my Mum shouted my name from the living-room and I immediately answered "I'm watching it!" I then had a text from my aunt telling me it was on. It's almost like my family know I like Blyton!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
