Anyone seen this one? Was it subtitled or available in English?

It's the first I've heard of it, Pete. Strange to see Buster as a poodle!!

That series has been mentioned briefly in one or two threads and I'd love to see it dubbed into English, but I don't even know whether it has been released on video/DVD/Blu-ray in Japanese. It might not have been very faithful to the books as it seems there were 115 episodes, spanning 2 1/2 years, so more than a few new stories must have been written!

Huiii, what a treasure. Would be nice to watch it, also without subtitles, but better with it. :D

Who is who?

Bets in the middle seems to be quite obvious. So the girl on the right side above must be Daisy.

The boy right and the second one from the left both seem to be kind of fat, but the boy right looks older to me, so he is probably Fatty.

The boy on the left would be Larry, because he looks older than the second one left, who might be Pip.

From left to right:
Larry, Pip, Bets, Daisy, Fatty.
And of course Buster the poodle.

I emailed the owner of the webpage, but he couldn't give much details. As it seems they're neither available on VHS nor on DVD, and it's quite possible that no records exists any longer. Children's programmes were considered not to be as worth keeping as other programmes, so the material was probably reused and overwritten by something else. He still hopes though that one or another forgotten storeroom may contain the films.
According to his memory the episodes were about 30 minutes long, and they were aired weekly, he seems to remember they were two-parters, he can't say though how many of the books had been used and how close they were to the books, it's more than 40 years ago. The only help with his research were the TV-schedules of the newspapers, and they don't give much information.

Thanks for that, Wolfgang. I wonder whether any of the actors have ever given an interview about the series?
