Italian opening theme live performance

Post by OFM »

Hi Friends!

Last November in Tuscany (Italy) during the event "Lucca Comics & Games" , Elisabetta Viviani (the singer who has starred the original Italian opening theme of Famous Five 70s series) has sung live that song after nearly 30 years!

it was great to hear the whole audience to sing the song with her!

Check it out this video from "Lucca Comics" stage:

A nice catchy tune, pity I don't understand a word of it. I only know one word of Italian, and I would be shocked if that was in the song.

Same here! I only know one Italian word (barring a few musical terms such as andante and allegro) and it may well be the word that you know!

Very interesting. I logged in from a PC to be able to watch that. Italian is a very easy language for English speakers to learn, and with the words at hand it's easy to sing along if you can hold a tune (which I can't, alas). The lyrics are here in case anyone's interested.

Thanks Fatty. I can see a resemblence to a few English and French words amonst the Italian ones, so it looks as though it wouldn't be too difficult to learn the basics.

Anita, I'd forgotten the musical terms, so I do know more than one Italian word. I'm not sure exactly what the other Italian word I know means but I could have a pretty good guess. I think it meant something like 'go away', but not as politely.

Forget music. What about FOOD? Antipasto, bruschetta, calamari, focaccia, gnocchi, minestrone, pizza, pepperoni, risotto, salami, zucchini... one can easily create an A-Z of Italian food terms. Ah, I can think of half a dozen names of pasta alone!

La banda dei cinque
(The Gang of Five)

Four smart guys: Julian, Ann and Dick
Giorgina who wants to be called George
Tim is their dog, he's got an amazing nose
No one in the world is as smart as him

Us from the gang of five, the unbeatable gang,
no one obeys, no one gives orders
We're the gang of five, we solve everything
Find us an adventure, and here we come

Hey child, follow us, come on, follow us, come on, follow us
Follow the gang, and if you want, five will become six

Someone is saying that there's an UFO, it's landed on the highway
People are running and hiding in the houses
we get closer slowly, walking hand in hand
No fear, the UFO is just a clown.

Us from the gang of five, we're the brilliant kind
two colonels, and three generals
Us form the gang of five, we're not afraid
Find us an adventure, and here we come

Hey child, follow us, come on, follow us, come on, follow us
Follow the gang, and if you want, five will become six

They polluted the sea, they stepped on a flower
They destroyed all the city
But when we will grow up, we will change the world
And join together, and sing together...

Hey child, follow us, come on, follow us, come on, follow us
Follow the gang, and if you want, five will become...

Hey child, follow us, come on, follow us, come on, follow us
Follow the gang, and if you want, five will become six

Hey child, follow us, come on, follow us, come on, follow us
Follow the gang, and if you want, five will become six

I did not even know the existence of this series on Italian TV - I did not watch TV and do not like in general Italian productions of these last decades. I should however be interested in this particulas series for Mrs Blyton's sake. But I think that it is not possible to watch it now. Another question: I was able to find on line the movie "The Five on Treasure Island" of 1959 (a black and white movie I liked very much) and a movie about Mysteries in French. I have found other complete movies of Mrs Blyton's series only in German - which I cannot properly understand. Besides these I have found only movies devided into short parts, which is very difficult to put together - and I have not liked some episodes I have watched. Are there other complete movies of Mrs Blyton series available in English, French or Spanish?
