Re: 70s Famous Five on DVD?
My mistake, Gail, it isn't Spanish at all - it's Italian! 'La Banda dei Cinque' . I saw the pictures on the Home Page of the German Famous Five Website (German language version).

Actually right again, Tony. In addition to the F5 Italian 'La Banda dei Cinque' there also appears to be a Spanish "Os Cinco." Any more for any more?

Some ;lovely covers there indeed. I am amazed though that we are still waiting in the land where the series was made and set. Maybe we will get the special 100th anniversary edition.

Yes, Tony and Lucky Star, it's most embarrassing that the FAMOUS FIVE 1978/79 are left out in the cold in theirs and Enid's mother country…
I did not urge on the UK release last few months because Oscar Beuselinck, director at Mediumrare Entertainment already was in licence negotiations.
And now, surprisingly Oscar could not make the deal for DVD rights…
I hope the "next" DVD label in the UK (Network Distributing, formerly Network DVD, also seems to be very interested in the UK DVD release) will be able to make the licence contract for DVD.
I'll follow up on it...

Re: 70s Famous Five on DVD?
It's a shame none of these new releases are being produced on Bluray. I was involved in the German release late last year and I have to say the image results are startling. It may have the perpetual English subtitles but I'm still very happy to have the full 1080p image upgrade.
Maybe the eventual UK release will be in BR?

Wow - I am blown away. This is great news. I thought it would never happen but for once we are the lucky ones here. The new dvd is approx. $37.95 AU and includes extensive bonus material too. Can't wait.

Re: 70s Famous Five on DVD?
I have had a look around and the cheapest I could find it was on the JB HI FI website.
It is $AU32.98 with free postage.

Re: 70s Famous Five on DVD?
As happy as I am for everyone else in the world, I'm getting a bit tired that there is still no UK release announced. It's completely wasted the opportunity for a pre-Christmas release!

Great researching Maritaskeeta. Thanks for the information. I had discovered that cheaper price too soon after I had made my post on this forum.
