Thank you Anita....

I Looked back through the thread, but didn't find a comparative analysis between both editions (german and UK).

I think there is a lot of confussion about the serial.

I need yo know if german edition has more bonus than UK, and english language and subtitles....or both editions have the same characteristics. Blu ray version is available on german, but not in UK....This Blu ray edition is identical to dvd set?...

By the way, english set has english subtitles?

Yes, the English DVD set has English subtitles (they can be turned on or off).

The DVD set I bought in Australia a year ago, only has the episodes, no interviews or commentaries.

Where can I get an English version with all of these on it, please?

I too would love to know whether the commentaries that were recorded for three episodes ever made it onto any DVD release. They're not on the English one.

I don't speak German, but having clicked on the link it seems that the German DVD set has different bonus features and a different booklet (at least in part). Someone who has the German set will be able to tell you more and let you know how long the bonus material lasts, Ciclón. I remember somebody saying that the German DVDs were made in such a way that it's not possible to turn the subtitles off (i.e. if you're watching the English version on the German DVD set, it will have German subtitles).

As Peppermint Patty pointed out, you can watch the episode with the English audio version on the German DVD-set without subtitles if you use VLC-player on PC-Systems. Harddive DVD-players don't allow you to switch them off (at least not the ones I own).

If german Blu ray edition neither allow to switch off german subtitles, best buy for me will be UK set, I think...

I'll try to find something about bonus and booklet differences.

Hallo, sometimes Felix is really busy. so I will answer your question. :-) I hope not to late, but I have seen it now. The booklet ist not the same. There was a little bot confusion to it: http://www.fuenffreundefanpage.at/de_tv ... n.htm#reel but now the Booklet is different There are summaries of the episodes in the English version and a nice inerview of Gail Rendard (I have seen the booklet) --- and you have an commentary of the actors on the English Version. --- The German version owns a big Bonus DVD with several material:
- a long Interview with Marcus Harris and Oliver Rohrbeck
- Enid Blyton Day 2010
- two little ITV reports: Famous Five United: Marcus Harris and Jennifer Thanisch
- and a RTL report; it was the last time that Michael Hinz was in Tv and asked to his role
Greetings, Soenke

I have tested it, but I have forgotten to post it. Ok, the switching of the subtitle etc, works not with my DVD Recorder. But I suppose the way which Wolfgang described above will work. It's sometimes described in the internet that this VLC way works. friendly greetings, Soenke
