To Gary Russell

Post by pbsausie »

Hi

i'm too young to have seen the 1978 series originally - my meeting with it came through scratchy old VHS nearly 20 years later

I really enjoyed your performance and i feel embarrassed to admit it but had something of a crush on your 1978 self - from what ive seen online you grew up to be very handsome

Wish you all the best

Hi Gary

You won't be getting any compliments from me like the ones above, but great to see that you take an interest in your old performances still, and speak to the fans - always great to see.

I must admit that I never connected the Gary Russell who starred in the Famous Five with what you've been doing more recently until I started reading up on the FF again - you've done well!

Cheers

If you look at the Enid Blyton Day 2012 thread, Mark, you will be able to see some photos in there of Gary, when he visit the Enid Blyton Day, also with Julie Davis who played the part of Jo and of course the actor who played Julian too. :)

Daisy, I noticed that too, and was hoping very much that Julie had got it wrong as I was there in 2012 and would have been very disappointed if Gary had been there and I'd missed him.

Thanks Julie!

Yes, I've had a good look at all the pictures - looks like it was a great day.

You know, we had a family holiday back at the beginning of the month, taking in London (central and theme parks), Beaulieu and Chester. I didn't start to look into the locations for the TV series until this week, and it appears that I could have had a good old look around while we were in Beaulieu!!

Never mind - we'll head down that way again sometime. Not a short drive though - We live near Inverness!!

THIS looks exciting, and I can't wait to hear it. It is co-produced and directed by Gary. BF have released some cracking DW audio titles which you can download.
