Hello Number 6,

You forget just how long ago it was, 30 years, can't believe it.

Do you know where Jock's farm is please Number 6? Pity the barn has been demolished.

I had a great time. I visited the village of Exbury, Gatewood farm, Lepe, Gatebridge and the farm where Finniston farm was filmed with the entrance to Warren lane opposite. I had no idea the two were so close. i even found what i think was the parkhill Hotel where the actors stayed in the first series. I wasn't entirley sure as the name is slightly different now. It was a very beautifull building and a very expensive tastefully decoarted hotel now. I did ask to the bemusement of the front desk of this was the hotel, but they din't know.

I didn't visit Exbury house, Christchurch or Hurst castle due to time. But this gives me more to explore for this year.

Cycling is defenitely the way forward, the New forest is cracking for it, closer to nature and all that, time to appreciate the area and quite Famous Fivey as well.

Hi Scott

I will look up the location of Jock's farm in my notes when I get the time! I do recall visiting the farm and not seeing the barn, but I'd have to go back one day to see for certain. Think my memory is going!

Glad you had a good time in the New Forest. :D

Hi,

the farm is called "Lepe Farm" and is situated at the small road that leads from the Lepe Country Park to Exbury village.

Best regards,

Hello everyone. Been great reading everyones posts here. I've just had the most amazing weekend searching out the 70s series locations with my friend Andrea. Burley (Castaway) was fantastic, my favorite episode. We were outside the 'Odd Spot' Shop where Barling and Block stood, and just accross the road was the little shop where Barling met the children. We really wanted to find out where Smugglers Top house was, so we decided to drive round a bit and look for it. We found it! Burley House Manor, it's a hotel so you can sleep at Smugglers Top! If you walk round the back you will see the tower that Block signals from! Photos here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nickcapald ... hotostream I'll upload the rest during the week of the other locations.

Wow! Thanks for thisNick.

I'm in the area too - a bit wet the past 24 hours though :(

Will get to Burley and have a look. Fingers crossed the weather clears. We're in a tent!

Hi Marc, shame about the wet. Though Rain does sound cosy when your inside a tent.
Hope you manage to get to Smugglers Top, block will take your bags in for you

Heya, thanks. Really did'nt want too leave Burley without finding that one. Such a great building too. Looks pretty expensive to stay the night there. I'd probly be thrown out for trying to signal from the tower room in the night haha

ness wrote:Readers may already know these but I thought it might be useful to list the locations used for the 1970's and 1990's television series. There is also a list of known and speculative places that may have inspired Enid Blyton. Enjoy!
1970’s Series
Blackwater House, Warren Lane, Beaulieu, SO42 7XH
Kirrin Cottage.
N.B. Warren Lane is a private lane and the house is also privately owned, but a photo can be found here.
Thank you so much, Ness, for this labor of love!
I was planning to watch my 90's FF series again soon and now I can even check out the movie locations.
