This is a photo of Gatewood House near Exbury, taken from the rear garden. It was used as a filming location in a few episodes of the 1978 F5 TV series, as well as being the living accommodation for the four child actors whilst filming the second series. It's a lovely house & is located a stones throw from Exbury village. :D

If you can make the Society meet up next May, then we could have a walk from Exbury House/gardens to view Gatewood House...but, alas, only from the front! Near the house is the big barn which features in Five fall into adventure. Then on to Gatewood Bridge..scene of the caravan camp & where Nobby washes the elephant in Five go off in a caravan! This is a 2 mile round walk from Exbury! :D

Julie...I may be able to send you some more location photos this weekend, if my brother gets a chance to download them for me! :D

Has anyone on the Forum ever attempted to photograph Blackwater Cottage, oft-depicted as Kirrin Cottage—even from a distance?

Yes, I visited this particular cottage several years ago & got a few photos. However, these went missing from my collection (along with several others!) when I put them on a disc & mislaid them a few months later! I still haven't a clue where they went to.

I remember hiring a bike for the day & heading to the house. On arrival, I cycled down the long private lane to the house with the intention of asking permission to take photos. No one was in or around the vicinity, so I took a few & legged it! Very naughty of me! :D

A sneaky peak of the front exterior of Gatewood House where Gary, Jennifer, Michele & Marcus lived during season 2 of the F5 TV series. This part of the house can just be seen from the bridleway that runs from Exbury village to Darkwater ( or Gatewood Bridge).

As I've said to number 6 via emails, I just love this house. And the gardens are just fabulous. Our dog Rosie, would love playing with her ball in those gardens.

I don't suppose that Gatewood House has ever been filmed during both series/seasons? Even as, say, for a brief backdrop?

Yes, it has daanton. It featured in 'fall into adventure' where Jo visits during the night & is captured by Dick. There's also a barn next to Gatewood house where the F5 & Jo are seen in the same episode. I'll post a photo of it. The house has been used as a backdrop in a few other episodes as well. :D

This is the barn at Gatewood, daanton, which featured in 'fall into adventure'. The trees to the left have grown considerably since filming took place there. :D It can also be seen very briefly in 'Five get into Trouble', just after the convict is seen changing clothes. They're seen running through the barn in the dark (filters on camera!). See if you can spot the scene the next time you watch the episode! :D

Thanks for posting your photos, Number 6. It's always interesting to see places associated with the TV series.
