Thank you Gary, that's very interesting to know. FMM 705 is currently taxed until April 2011 according to the DVLA enquiry facility, although of course ownership details are classified and rightly so. At least the sole surviving road vehicle from the 70's Famous Five series is out there somewhere and will perhaps make a reappearance one of these days.

Three years on and my quest to find the Morris 8 Tourer from Five Go Off To Camp still continues! Once again at a Classic Car show in the Dorset village of Harmans Cross I spotted a vehicle that just had to be the same one as used in the Five series. The colour scheme was correct, maroon body with black mudguards and running boards, could it be? A quick glance at the number plate was to lead to instant disappointment, but never mind, it is still a very fine vehicle indeed . Maybe next time?
