Famous Five book?

Does anybody know the book (I have a feeling it's a ff one) where they are going on holiday somewhere in a car and the car struggles to get up the road because of some sort of magnetism or rare mineral?
(I think this is a real part of a book but equally I could be mixing up dreams and reality along with a touch of father Ted!!)

Yes, Five Get into A Fix, I remember it well from my childhood collection of Enid's books.

It is indeed and i started rereading ìt last night
Interestingly my e edition of it has the infamous 'Mrs banard' in it rather than "mother ' or 'the children's mother '

Yes, Fix, it is. Travelling on the Tarbet-Inverary raod, (A83) - a long stretch which appears to be downhill is actually uphill. Seemingly going downhill and the car struggling, I was immediately reminded of Five Get Into a Fix. At the peak, it is known as 'Rest and be Thankful'. Alarmingly going the other way seems a steeper downhill than going uphill. Our car felt like the Runaway Train!
