Looking for a story- Appreciate Help :)

Post by Enchanted323 »

Hi,
I'm looking to buy an Enid Blyton story as a gift for someone; it is a story that she loved as a child. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember the name. It is a story that includes a disappearing land that reappears, and at some point, she thinks one of the characters grows feathers. She thinks the story was called "Middle of No Where Land" or something like that. It may be a short story from a collection of tales. It is supposed to be a surprise gift and it would mean a lot to her if I could find it.
Any help as to what the story/collection of tales is called would be EXTREMELY helpful and I would be really thankful. Please feel free to respond here or email me at imladris@hotmail.ca
Thank you for your time !

It could be "The Land of Nowhere" from The Second Holiday Book. http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/book ... liday+Book" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Denis and Susie lose their rabbit, and go through a tiny door in their greenhouse. A little man directs them to "the land of nowhere" which "might be anywhere". He says "Anywhere is on thisIsland at the moment, it's a queer land you know, it moves from place to place." While they're on the island searching they are given gull's wings by Mother Dibble.

If you want some more text (or pictures from the Holiday Book) from the story to confirm if this is the right one just ask :)

Edit: It also appears in Purnell's Sleepy Time Tales. http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/book ... time+Tales" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as well as this collection http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/book ... er+Stories" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Thank you so so so much for your help ! I think this may be it. I don't want to ask as it is intended as a surprise, but it if it is she'll be happy. If anyone has any other ideas on what it might be please let me know.

Thanks Fiona1986 !
